The Hermès Kelly Élan Broderie in noir box calf - an envelope clutch that belongs firmly in the archive of exceptional craft. The exterior carries appliqué patches in alligator and snakeskin across the front face: fuchsia, burgundy, green, red, and a blue-cream-beige stripe, each patch applied with precision against the smooth, lacquer-like surface of box calf. The contrast between the tonal black base and the multicolour exotic inlays is quiet from a distance, extraordinary up close.
Box calf leather develops a characteristic patina with time, becoming richer without losing its structure. Palladium-finish turn-lock clasp. Pale blush felt interior lining. The Broderie designation refers to the appliqué technique - a specialist process that distinguishes this configuration from any standard Kelly Élan.
