The Kelly 28 in noir Togo leather with gold hardware is, by any collector's measure, the foundational configuration. Black and gold has anchored the Kelly's presence in private wardrobes for decades - not because it is safe, but because it is correct. It asks nothing of the occasion and suits all of them.
Togo leather, with its characteristic pebbled grain, resists scratching and holds its structure over years of considered use. At 28 cm, the Kelly sits between the compact 25 and the more generous 32 - precise in proportion, equally at home carried by its single rolled top handle or worn on the detachable shoulder strap.
The Kelly's silhouette has remained essentially unchanged since the 1930s: a trapezoid form, exterior saddle stitching in the Sellier tradition, and a turn-lock clasp that requires both hands to open - a deliberate architecture that defines the bag's formal character.
