The Kelly 25 Midas is one of the rarest commissions in the Hermès universe - a Sellier-construction Kelly in which the hardware is elevated from precious metal plating to 18-carat white gold, set with diamonds along the handle. This example is executed in shiny black porosus crocodile: the tightest scale pattern available in the house's exotic leather programme, polished to a lacquer-like depth that intensifies under direct light.
The Sellier construction - rigid, exterior-stitched, sharply cornered - is the formal expression of the Kelly silhouette. In a standard configuration it commands a premium; in shiny porosus crocodile with fine jewellery hardware, it belongs to a category that rarely appears in authenticated resale at all.
