Description
The JPG Kelly is a rare departure within the house's Kelly lineage. Conceived by Jean Paul Gaultier during his collaboration with Hermès, the design extends the silhouette horizontally into a shoulder-wear format - retaining the turn-lock clasp and saddle-stitched top handle of the original, while introducing a pronounced fringe along the lower front panel that is entirely its own.
This example is executed in midnight navy pebbled Togo leather - a colour that deepens the drama of the fringe detailing without competing with it. Palladium hardware runs across the clasp and strap fittings. The trapeze-shaped body provides a generous interior suited to daily carry. The fringe itself, worked in the same leather, moves with the bag.
As a limited edition produced during a specific and documented collaboration, the JPG Kelly occupies a distinct position in the archive. Pieces of this configuration appear rarely and attract serious collector attention. Condition: very good, with minor signs of wear to the corners. Includes dust bag, padlock and key.
