The JPG Birkin Shoulder in ostrich leather is one of the rarest configurations within an already rare format. Jean Paul Gaultier's elongated shoulder interpretation of the Birkin gains an entirely different character in ostrich - the distinctive quill follicle pattern catching light differently with each angle, no two skins alike.
This example is presented in natural sable: a warm honey-tan that works in close sympathy with the gold-tone hardware. The engraved nameplate, twin belt-strap tabs, and hanging clochette with padlock and key are all present and correct. The structured trapeze silhouette is well maintained, with no deformation to the base.
Ostrich leather in this colourway, on the JPG shoulder format, is rarely encountered through authenticated resale. It is a piece suited to the collector building a serious archive - equally at home carried to a private event or kept in rotation as an investment-worthy acquisition.
