Description
The JPG Birkin Shoulder is among the rarest configurations within the Birkin family. Conceived by Jean-Paul Gaultier during his tenure as a creative collaborator with Hermès, the design reinterprets the Birkin's structure for shoulder carry - retaining the front flap, turn-lock clasp, and padlock with clochette, while replacing the open-top silhouette with a fully enclosed form and twin rolled top handles that double as shoulder straps.
This example is presented in chocolate brown Togo leather with palladium hardware. Togo's pebbled grain provides the same structural resilience associated with the classic Birkin, and the deep brown tone is a collector's choice: understated in register, exceptionally versatile across seasons and dress codes.
The JPG Shoulder Birkin is seldom encountered in the authenticated resale market. Its production run was limited, and examples in collector-grade condition are rarely available.
