The Haut à Courroies - the bag from which the Birkin was born - is one of the most historically significant silhouettes in the Hermès archive. Originally conceived for equestrian travel, the HAC 50 carries a scale and presence that sets it apart from every other piece in the collection. In Bordeaux Porosus crocodile, it becomes something rarer still.
Porosus crocodile is the finest of the exotic skins used by Hermès, prized for its uniformly small, symmetrical scales and exceptional suppleness. The deep Bordeaux hue shifts between rich burgundy and aubergine depending on the light, revealing the natural variation that distinguishes each skin. Gold hardware - turn-lock clasp, padlock, and clochette in matching crocodile - completes the configuration with characteristic restraint.
