Presenting an exquisite runway masterpiece from CHANEL's Spring/Summer Collection of 1991. This piece is a rare gem for collectors, famously worn by Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, and the esteemed Anna Wintour. Its significance transcended the catwalk, gracing the walls of the Metropolitan Museum, first in 2005 and again in the 2023 exhibition, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty."
The "Scuba" jacket boasts a sleek outline adorned with white sequins, evoking the image of a figure-hugging wetsuit glimmering under the dappled sunlight of the ocean. The scuba diving collection theme continued as bronzed models carrying surfboards elegantly paraded down the runway in coordinating black neoprene leggings.
This jacket, embellished with white paillette sequins and adorned with black grosgrain ribbons, presents a figure-flattering, gently tailored silhouette that provides just the right amount of stretch, making it the perfect statement piece. It features a V-neck and back opening, gold-framed CC buttons, welt pockets, a concealed front zipper closure and gracefully rounded one-piece shoulders.
Exceptionally well-preserved with an impeccable exterior. The interior lining exhibits a mild, age-appropriate yellowing. Labeled FR40, runs small. Corresponds to modern FR36, please refer to measurements: bust 36", waist 32", length 26", sleeve 22".
