The Chaîne d'Ancre is one of the oldest and most recognisable motifs in the Hermès archive. Introduced in 1938 and inspired by the anchor chains of Norman sailing vessels, the interlocking oval links have since appeared across jewellery, leather goods, and enamel - each iteration a restatement of the same formal logic: strength through repetition, beauty through restraint.
This necklace is executed in polished sterling silver, the curb-link chain finished with a toggle bar clasp. The set includes an additional heart-link chain, extending the versatility of the piece across different necklines and layering configurations. Complete with the original lacquered orange box, suede-lined interior, tag, and 25-year warranty card.
