The Picotin Lock 22 is the Hermès tote at its most unpretentious - a clean bucket silhouette drawn from the feed bag of the atelier's equestrian origins, updated with the house's characteristic precision. This example is executed in Clemence leather in vermillion: a saturated, warm red that reads with particular force against the cool silver of the palladium hardware. Clemence's pebbled, supple texture absorbs daily use gracefully, developing a gentle patina over time rather than showing wear.
The central leather strap and palladium padlock at the rim is the Picotin Lock's defining detail - functional closure, quietly decorative. The scalloped leather trim at the top edge is hand-finished, as is every element that leaves the atelier.
The PM 22 format is the workhorse of the two sizes: spacious enough for a full day's essentials, compact enough to remain elegant. The vermillion-palladium configuration is among the more vivid colour pairings in the Picotin's range, suited to collectors who carry colour with confidence.
