The Mini Bolide on Wheels is a piece that could only have come from the Hermès atelier - a novelty object executed with the same precision applied to the maison's most utilitarian bags. Modelled on the silhouette of a vintage motorcar, it references the Bolide bag's own origin story: the 1923 Bugatti racing car that inspired the first zip-fastened bag in the house's history.
Constructed in Nata Epsom - a warm, off-white that reads as cream in natural light - the embossed grain of the leather holds its form and resists marking, as Epsom is designed to do. Burgundy leather wheel-arch trim and red resin wheels with embossed Hermès Paris branding add chromatic punctuation. Palladium-tone metal hub hardware completes the composition.
This is a collector's object rather than an everyday accessory. It belongs in an archive, on display, or carried by someone who appreciates the wit and craft in equal measure. Production numbers are not disclosed, but pieces of this type appear rarely in authenticated resale.
