The HAC À Relier is one of the more singular forms in the Hermès archive - a 40 cm open tote conceived in the tradition of the Haut à Courroies, the original travelling bag that preceded the Birkin by generations. This example is executed in Evergrain, a grained calfskin with a fine, consistent texture that resists everyday wear while retaining the supple hand of quality leather. The colour is noir: unambiguous, enduring, and one of the most versatile in the Hermès palette.
Dual rolled top handles support comfortable carry across the forearm or shoulder. The open-top silhouette and generous interior make it a capable companion for the working day or a long weekend - equally suited to a professional environment and to travel that does not sacrifice considered dressing. The constellation-motif embossing across the front panel - visible in images - adds an archival dimension seldom found in standard production.
