The Kelly 20 is among the smallest and most refined expressions of a silhouette that has remained architecturally unchanged since the 1930s. In purple doblis suede - a reversed calfskin with a close, dense nap in an electric violet tone - this vintage example occupies a distinct position: doblis in this colourway was produced in limited quantities, and examples in collector-grade condition surface infrequently in private circulation or at auction. The gold-tone hardware carries diamond accents, a configuration that moves this piece firmly into jewellery-bag territory - an evening companion of the highest order. The single rolled top handle, turn-lock front closure, padlock and key, and removable suede shoulder strap are all present.
