The Haut à Courroies - the HAC - predates the Birkin by decades. Originally conceived as a travelling bag for equestrian equipment, it is taller and deeper than the Birkin in the same size, with a more upright silhouette that distinguishes it immediately to the informed eye. The HAC 40 in Gold Togo is a commanding piece: a warm caramel tan rendered in one of the house's most enduring leathers.
Togo is a pebbled calfskin known for its soft hand, natural scratch resistance, and the way it develops a subtle patina over years of careful use. The double rolled top handles, contrast white saddle stitching, and palladium hardware are consistent with the house's equestrian heritage - detail-rich without being decorative for decoration's sake. The front toggle closure with turn-lock clasp and twin side strap-and-buckle fastenings reflect the bag's working origins.
